Are You Contributing to Dis-ease, or Peace?
What are you focusing on?
Is it creating ease, or dis-ease?
There is a dull, sustained level of dis-ease happening in the world. And it is so easy to become afflicted with it. It is easy to get sucked in to the little bits here and there, or the 24/7 news, if you happen to have it on. And whether you consciously realize it or not, it is creating dis-ease in you. And that certainly isn't something that any of us should be contributing to, consciously or otherwise.
All I know about what is going on in the world at the moment, is what I see when I look out my window. And I know this is for the best. For me.
I’ve looked. I get it. I tried to stay informed with little glances at real world reporting. And then I felt it again. The dip in my vibe. The agitation. The quickness to react. They were all symptoms of the dis-ease I was contributing to in my mind and body, by taking in all of the low level consciousness behaviors that are being displayed in the world right now.
I’ve jumped in the pool of it, then been back out to save myself several times over the last 10 years. Times when I thought I could handle it. And I could. Until I couldn’t. And yes, I realize that I am privileged to be able to turn off the chaos when I can. I thank God for that every day.
It feels as though there are two distinct worlds happening out there. There are those who are in the chaos (even a toe in still counts), or those who are grounded in real life. Yes, for some there is chaos right outside their window and it is hard to get away from. But that isn't the reality for most of us.
For those of us who are fortunate enough to get to choose what we will focus on, let us focus the beauty. Let us focus on the love. Let us focus on hope. I have immense hope for what is coming in the future, and I know that so much of that hope, stems from my being grounded in the present and not lost in the chaos.

Presence is being able to stop and stare at the squeaking hummingbird in the tree and smell the flowers on my walk every day. Sharing a meal with my loved ones and savoring every bite. Presence is knowing when I sense dis-ease happening in my body and mind - and doing what I can to bring myself back to peace.
And Laughing! I love the silence of having no television most of the time, but I truly enjoy rewatching favorite shows that make me laugh on occasion. Currently that is Parks and Recreation, or The Office.
Have you ever noticed that with all the different languages spoken throughout the world, how we all laugh the exact same way? Laughter is a gift and a common language of the Universe. It helps us to truly see that we are all one. We all laugh the same, and we all love the same.
I hope you gift yourself a chance to laugh and love every day.
It’s important to realize that where your attention goes, your energy flows.
If there is a collective bucket of energy in this world that we are all contributing to - what do you want your contribution to be?
Turn off the chaos and tune into love, peace, and laughter. Don't immerse yourself in dis-ease. The body doesn't want it. And eventually, it will let you know. So, before that happens, turn toward what feels good. It is time to take daily walks outside, to nourish your body and mind, and to remember to enjoy your life.
If you are struggling right now to find your peace and/or are experiencing dis-ease in your body and mind, I have a few openings this week for Reiki energy healing sessions.
You won't have to wait to see if it helped or hope that it does something. You will feel the results immediately. And you will be peace again.
