Seven Ways to Protect Your Energy Field

(And Release What Isn’t Yours)

You are energy, and you have an energy field surrounding you and communicating with the world around you. Everything is energy and has some sort of energy field surrounding it. These layers of energy surrounding your body help you interact with and sense the world around you. And just like our homes can physically become cluttered up, so can our energy field.

Anything and everything we interact with affects our personal energy field. Our home, our friends and family, and everything we consume influence our energy field.

Have you ever noticed that you could be having an amazing day, when suddenly a phone call or a visit from someone changes everything? Just sharing space with certain people can shift it all.

Maybe for you, turning on the news can shift everything. The fear and divisiveness can be painful see. Perhaps it is social media, like Facebook, and the endless arguments over who is right and who is wrong and honestly, who cares?

It’s all reactivity, and it’s all in our power to absorb it or not. To participate with it or not. To boundary ourselves from it, or not.

You have complete power over your personal energy field. You get to decide what you consume, what or whom you allow in your space, and what you dwell on.

Here are some actions you can take to maintain a higher vibe in your personal energy field.

1.        Clean house. Taking care of the physical space around you is an important part of your energy hygiene. Dust and declutter! Too much stuff is overwhelming on the energy body. Dust allows lower density vibes to linger. Tidy up, so you can free up space in your energy field.

2.        Meditate every day. Your soul is sitting in the highest vibrational seat you have access to, and the more time you devote to quieting your thoughts and being peace, the easier it will be to connect to your soul self. Our thoughts clutter up our energy field as much as junk in the home – maybe more! Here is an awesome example of a guided meditation that will help you with just that!

3.        Listen to your body. Every day, you receive intuitive messages within your body. These messages guide you with feelings of discernment about what is good for you and what isn’t. You will know immediately in your body, if someone enters your space whose energy will in effect, bring you down. You will also know if you are somewhere, you don’t really want to be or exposed to something that doesn’t feel right. Set boundaries for yourself and respond accordingly.

4.        Turn off the news. If there is something important that you need to know – trust that you will find out! Otherwise, turn off the fear mongering divisiveness that is the news. It paints a very different picture from the reality that is likely around you. Yes, there are unfortunate situations going on in our world. Yet there is way more good happening for most of us, and we should be tuning into that. It is better for your energy body, physical body, and mental body to focus on what is good.

5.        Be discerning with social media. When you are scrolling, your body will let you know what feels good. If you are triggered by something and compelled to argue, it’s a no. If your thoughts are playing the comparison game and making you feel lower, it’s a no. If you are watching something that is opening your heart to love and making you laugh or feel joy – it’s a yes!

6.        Understand your emotions, versus someone else’s. So often I see clients for an energy healing, and I can tell they are carrying other people’s energetic baggage. If you are the one people go to for advice or to feel better, or if you tend to want to help other people with their issues, you likely carry their energetic baggage too. If this hit home, declare “I release any energetic baggage that is not mine, and does not serve my highest good.” Repeat until you feel clear. Yes, it can be that simple.

7.        Say no, when it is what you truly want. Every time you say yes when you really want to say no, you are infecting yourself with lower density energy called resentment.

 Ways To Clear Your Energy Field, When You Feel Low

There are times, like it or not, when we are inadvertently infected with other people’s lower density energy. When you recognize that you feel drained or fatigued, or can’t shake the fear/worries/bad feelings, here are a few great things to do.

First – Take a few deep breaths to connect to the present moment. Then,

Speak aloud this affirmation…. “I release any thoughts, feelings, or energies that are not aligned with love and light.”

Next, clear the space around you with intention. If you have sage, nag champa, or palo santo incense, light it and take it with you moving through every room of your house, car, garage, wherever you spend time, and say aloud or in your mind, “Purify and cleanse this space. Bring loving light energy into this space. I release all energy that does not serve the highest good”.

You can use healing sound frequencies, a singing bowl, crystals, or whatever resonates best with you to clear your spaces. Your intention is what powers this.

Open blinds, windows, and circulate stagnant air. Bring in fresh cut flowers and help maintain the plants that help to draw toxins out of the air.

Another great way to clear your energy field is to take a walk in nature. Let the birds draw in your attention. Let the rain fall on your face. Walk barefoot or sit in the grass. If you cannot go outside, take a bath or a shower and imagine washing away everything that does not serve you.

You get to decide what you allow into your life and what you focus on. Nothing outside of you has greater power over you, than you do.
