You Are Way More Powerful Than You Realize

I was mid-flight from Portland to New York as I wrote this.
I have had a Dramamine and half an edible to help me along my way. I’m not a nervous flyer, but if I am not fully prepared, air sickness will destroy me.
I am immersing myself in the episodes of Scandal I downloaded, as it’s a great way to make a flight go by fast. Only now, I must pause. Things are getting a bit bumpy.
For the second time, the turbulence warning came on. The pilot makes a point to let us all know that this could last a while, and orders us to stay in our seats with the seatbelt buckled.
My stomach is flip flopping as the pilot comes back on to say the turbulence is now moderate. Not mild, like before. This is moderate. I instinctively place my hands on my stomach and call in my Reiki healing to assist in settling things.
I feel the heat in my belly and try to stay in my body and out of my thoughts. If I allowed my mind to talk, it might freak out a little. Okay, a lot. So, I close my eyes and begin taking deep breaths. I know my breath will help me remain calm.
I take closed mouth breaths, which will help calm any fight or flight response that wants to kick in. I take long breaths in and out through my nose. Deep inhales, and on the outbreath I hum. Long, slow hums…
With the noise of the plane, nobody can hear me humming, and it kicks me into a deep natural meditation. My warm, healing hands soothe my belly. You can lay hands upon your body to soothe yourself whether you are attuned to reiki or not, as this is a natural instinctive response we all have.
In my mind, I call in the angels and guides of myself and everyone aboard the plane, including the captain and crew. I ask for their protection. I call in Archangel Michael, who is known as the patron saint and protector of all. I ask him to guide and protect us safely to our destiny.
I then ask for protective healing energy to flow toward the pilot, the plane, and everyone. I called upon healing angels to help maintain the flow of positive energy throughout the plane.
I’m not sure how long it was, before the turbulence ended and the ride smoothed out. It was at least a half an hour. Maybe I was in such a deep meditation, that it only seemed to go fast. Perhaps my vibes, prayers, and intentions served to lessen the intensity and duration of it all.
What I do know is this. Instead of being worried while this was happening, I felt peace. Instead of fear, I felt love. And I didn’t get sick.
I know how powerful my intentions are. So are yours.
Don’t ever doubt your ability to influence the world within and around you.
I’m so grateful for this experience, and every time I am given the opportunity to affirm the power of my intention, energy, and my faith in the unseen forces all around us.
The next time you are in an intense situation, I hope you take the time to breathe. Shift your experience to reflect what you want, without allowing your worries to take hold. You are way more powerful than you realize.
