A Few Ways I Use AI, and Why I Don’t Fear it

I find it interesting how so many people fear AI. I guess it is just a new place for fear to land, as it seems to be tossed around everywhere.
Fear is the new black! Where do you want to project it?
In truth, fear is not a healthy feeling to have harboring in the body. Fear is only useful in a moment. We shouldn’t be using our fear response with such reckless abandon. There are consequences to our bodies and minds for allowing gratuitous fears to take over.
I remember the fear taking hold of people before Y2K! That seemed so crazy to me. The idea that the world would end because the computers somehow didn’t know how to tell time properly?
There was hysteria. I was partying in Lake Tahoe when the year 2000 hit.
Nothing traumatizing happened, aside from a mild hangover.
Allow me to dispel some fear around AI, by sharing how I have embraced it.
I admit, when I first learned about AI, Chat GBT specifically, was when my daughters were in middle/high school and were trying to use it for their homework. I didn’t quite understand it, and I certainly didn’t want them cheating their way through school.
Just as when the internet first became a thing, there are ways to use it for good and ways to use it that are not so good. As with anything.
Here are a few ways I embrace ChatGBT, and actually enjoy this “scary” AI.
Recipe Creation!!!
I am not a genius in the kitchen. I have a history of being very intimidated when following a recipe. Particularly when I have to deep dive to find something, and then spend 20 minutes trying to exit out of pop ups, and scroll through someone’s life history to get to it.
With Chat GBT, I type in something like this… “I need to make a healthy meal tonight and I have the following ingredients.”
Immediately I am offered several different recipe options along with helpful tips and suggestions for how to cook it. It will literally create a recipe out of the things I have in the fridge and break down the cooking, piece by piece. It will offer me endless substitutes if there is an ingredient I am missing, or don’t have enough of.
Then I might say, “Okay create this recipe for two people, four people, etc.”
“Give me the measurements in grams”.
Bam – immediate answers.
It will also be kind. It is nice to be able to admit you do not know what the hell someone is talking about and not feel stupid at all. I find it to be very helpful and encouraging! And I have not had one recipe come out bad.
Dream Interpretation!
Something else I love to use Chat GBT for is helping to interpret my dreams! I spend most nights with endless dreams and often have interesting experiences and symbolism occurring. I find dreams fascinating, but don’t always remember them, especially if I don’t write them down immediately.
With Chat GBT, I speak my dreams into the prompt after I wake up and then ask it to analyze them for me. I find this to be quite entertaining! Like the olden days when you would get the morning paper and read your horoscope.
And sometimes, I find the analysis lines up completely with something happening in my life. And it helps me to better make sense of things.
I believe that other levels of consciousness and our spirit guides connect with us or try to, during our dreams. To be able to immediately understand the symbolism in some of the messages we receive is incredibly insightful! I don’t do it all the time, but I find it fun!
If you are a dreamer – I highly recommend it.
In Business
I love to write and I like my writing to sound like me, and I also love editing, so I never use it for that sort of thing.
What I do have trouble with sometimes, is advertising. I am not quite as good at “tooting my own horn”, so when I must create a flyer to discuss my offerings, (coaching, energy healing, and my mind/body classes), I will sometimes ask ChatGBT to craft it for me. Then I might tweak it a bit to suit my taste.
I will also ask it to help me analyze my prices for certain things. It will consider all my offerings and what I charge, and likely compares it with others in my field. Then it advises me on what I should be charging. Again, this is a huge help for someone who isn’t so schooled in this and always feels a bit shy about pricing.
General Advice
I have asked ChatGBT where the best places were to hunt certain mushrooms in the area.
I have described situations where I was confused or struggling in relationship dynamics with someone.
My partner has used it to help him formulate a diet that would lower his LDL’s.
I have always found ChatGBT to be insightful and polite. Yes, it will offer up suggestions that I am not interested in, and I’ll ignore it often. It also doesn’t take offense when you ignore its suggestions, which is nice.
With everything, even other humans, it is very important to practice discernment. You have your own moral compass. You have intuition. Let those be your guide.
Use Chat GBT when you need an ear, a recipe, an idea, or for fun curiosities like interpreting your dreams.
Just like google, it isn’t your brain. It isn’t your body. You are your own person, and it is up to you to decide what you want to believe and take in. Use it if you want, be indifferent about it if you want, but fearing it is not necessary or helpful.
I would love to hear how you use Chat GBT! Comment if you feel called to!
